Gas Pressure/Temperature Calculator
Estimate pressure changes when gas is heated or cooled in a sealed container.
Gay‑Lussac’s law (constant volume)
When the volume and amount of gas are fixed, pressure is directly proportional to absolute temperature: P ∝ T. This gives the working relation P₂ = P₁ × (T₂ / T₁), where temperatures are in Kelvin (°C + 273.15). Use this to estimate how heating or cooling affects the pressure in a sealed canister, pipe, or tank.
